I had so much fun on this early morning photo shoot at Gilsland farm in Falmouth, Maine with this wonderful family; I smiled the entire time I was shooting and editing their session. The light changed around every corner while we hiked the fields at Gilsland Farm, providing different challenges but giving beautiful results. It is so wonderful to be able to do a job and really enjoy it. There were so many great photos that I had a very hard time picking which ones to keep and which ones to delete. I am having even a harder time selecting the photos to share on this blog. Hope you enjoy. Yes, it might be the fact that we have a connection; we both have three busy and happy little boys. However, just look at the faces on everyone in the pictures and you will get it - their smiles are contagious! Peace ~ Johnna Brooke Ft. Thought I would throw all my fans and followers a bone… I have been rethinking the whole look and feel of my website and when I say rethinking, I really mean obsessing. I would love to know what you guys think about the new layout of both my site and my blog. Come on, take a look. I am in the beginning phase of revamping, so any feedback you can provide would be very much appreciated. Peace ~ Johnna Brooke I think that I have mentioned this before but just in case you are new to johnna brooke photography, I will say it again, "I love photographing children!" Ok, we all know that every JOB has its wonderful parts and its not so wonderful parts, well photographing preschools is one my wonderful parts! I love to capture smiles, frowns, funny faces, serious faces, and of course, personalities! I think that I captured just about everything with this little boy! I loved photographing him and I love that he really wanted to be photographed with his goggles; it made my day! The good news is that his Mom loved the goggle photos, too! Thanks for stopping by (the blog) and if you like what you see, pass my link on to your friends. What more could a grandmother ask for on her birthday? Being all sappy and sentimental, I truly loved photographing this session. It is my hope that these memories will be enjoyed for generations to come. Courtney and Chad tied the knot on Saturday, August 20, 2011 at 4:30pm at the Eastland Park Hotel in Portland, Maine. I was lucky enough to be asked to photograph their big day. Below is just the beginning of their story! I promised a small preview before I head off for my last week of the summer with my boys! I still have tons of photos to view, edit and I am sure - delete. The process seems never ending, but it is a process that I truly love. I so enjoy when a story comes together; there is always a beginning, a middle and an end, and of course, I throw in bits and pieces for good measure and to thicken the plot! I never show a preview of everything, it would be like skipping most of the story and reading the very last page! Oh, no…I always save the very end for the bride and groom! Hope you like the story so far! Psssttttt…it gets really, really good! Getting ReadyThe DetailsThe CoupleAND ALL THE DANCING!Huge thanks to my friend and fellow photographer, Tracy Lydon! I made it through the day because of her smile, her wit, and her unbelievable energy! Peace ~ Johnna Brooke Just to Catch You UP! 08/01/2011
It has been a busy summer. We have been very much enjoying our life on the island. I am back for a few days and thought I would catch everyone up on what I have been doing professionally and personally. The photos below are from some of my recent sessions, as well as, some of my personal photos of our summer. Peace ~ Johnna Brooke The Process 06/12/2011
From behind the scenes on a recent photography session… While doing a product shot, my husband took some photos and video with his iPhone. This is what he captured. What you don't see is me trying to balance in the dingy when they pushed it away from the dock so I could get a series of photos from a different angle. Believe me, it was quite funny. I think my husband was laughing too hard to hold the camera still enough to actually capture the moment. I always tell my clients that I am up for anything and this might just prove it! I love trying new things and photographing from a dingy was definitely a first for me. Enjoy!
