Let me tell you a story of a little boy… There was once a little boy that was bored! A little boy that was bored because his brothers were at school. He was all alone. The little boy complained about being bored. The little boy complained about being bored so much that his mother sent him outside to play. She said, "Go outside and play. Make something. Build something. Do something. Run. Be Free. Use Your Imagination." The little boy went outside to play. He made something. He made snowballs. He made lots of snowballs. He used his imagination. He did something. He played. He made snowballs. He made more snowballs. The little boy was not bored but he grew tired of making snowballs. The little boy waited for his brothers to come home from school. He waited and waited and waited. He was not bored. Then the little boy thought that he would use his snowballs to attack his brothers. It would be an ambush. He was a general. He was a little green army man. He used his imagination. He did something. He played. He made something. He made snowballs. He made more snowballs. He waited. He was not bored. He was a general marching in the snow with fresh snowballs, ready to attack the enemy. Imagine That! He waited and waited and waited some more! UNTIL……. …his brothers came home from school. He attacked. They ran. He ran. And they all smiled. The broken scattered snowballs began to melt, just like the little boy's memory; he never remembered being bored! The end. Hope you enjoyed the story! Until next time, don't let your memories melt, snap some pictures! Thanks for stopping by! Peace ~ johnna brooke 2 Comments Life | Personal Work | Lifestyle Photography 01/22/2012
So last post, I promised to add more personal "stuff" to my blog - here goes. As I mentioned in the earlier post, I do not have time to keep my personal blog up to date, so I will be using the blog to bang out some fun. Most of you know that I participate in the 365 Project and try to take one photo a day of my boys. I love this project; especially when I can look back at a completed year! I feel so fulfilled and blessed and happy and some times even sad to see just how much my boys have changed. This month, I have been trying to get away from taking just portraits of the boys and really trying hard to focus on the "life" captures. Here are a couple photos that I totally love! Peace ~ johnna brooke My mother just recently asked me why I have not updated my personal blog in so long and the answer was…"I just can't do it all." So, 2012 will see the merging of my personal and work life. For years, I have been writing a blog about my life as a stay at home mother to three little boys, unfortunately, my life has totally gotten even more crazy and even more busy than before; I have decided to include snippets of my personal life and personal work into this blog. No, I will not be sharing all the mundane details of our life but I will throw in a tad of chaos just to spice this up a bit. I am on my third year of taking one photo a day of one of my three little boys. The photos in this collection are not always great photos and a lot of the time, I am capturing photos via my cell phone. These pictures are just a way of looking back and are by no means ex You can view past 365 projects and the start of 2012 by clicking the photos below. So here is to my Merge! Happy New Year and may 2012 be a great year for you all. Peace ~ johnna brooke Just to Catch You UP! 08/01/2011
It has been a busy summer. We have been very much enjoying our life on the island. I am back for a few days and thought I would catch everyone up on what I have been doing professionally and personally. The photos below are from some of my recent sessions, as well as, some of my personal photos of our summer. Peace ~ Johnna Brooke Yes, Sometimes They Ask... 03/29/2011
No More Monkeys Jumping on the Bed! 03/18/2011

With the winter taking a toll on my mind, body and soul, I have tried to stay as busy as I can. With that said, I have been focusing on taking color portraits of my children….not simple at all! It is easy for me to take photos of other people's children, but my own, well, it is a very daunting task. I wanted to get one good shot of each of my children but I really wanted to capture my middle son; he is a toothless wonder right now and I never want to forget how he looked while missing his two front teeth. The photo I captured of Luc is not great by any standard, but it will always remind me of how he looked, not to mention, every single time I look at it I can hear him talking with a little lisp. AWWWW, memories - even the juice mustache and bed head! My next project to keep me busy…getting the group money shot! Yeah, I mean all three of them with clean faces and clothes, all smiling and happy to be sitting next to each other. I will let you know if it pans out! Feel free to follow my personal photo project - I take one photo a day for 365 days! I am on my second project. You can see all of 2010 - HERE and you can see my 2011 progress - HERE!
